Meet Miles
My experience as a teacher in underfunded public schools in the U.S. and in established and well-resourced international schools in Europe helped me understand the role of routines and rituals in fostering caring and academically rigorous learning communities.
My primary career passion, including my Master's in Character Education, has been social/emotional, cooperative learning, and character education models. In particular, I have focused on how to build the transfer of these skills into all curriculum areas and learner’s conceptual knowledge.
I developed, organized, and led the implementation of a wide range of curricula, including all areas of literacy and emotional, collaborative, and virtue learning.
I’ve authored embedded curricula, combined and collated manuals, and created learning materials for literacy subjects. I’ve also designed and implemented collaborative learning models and developed standards-based continua across diverse subjects, including authentic assessment pieces.
Over the past several years, I have transitioned from full-time primary teaching to a variety of educational roles that align with the professional learning coach and facilitator position.
